Street Food :P

Food lovers are everywhere. Indian cuisine is popular all over the world but in India itself the street food has its own essence. Despite of foreign food chains and restaurants, street food has not at all lost its consideration among people.  And now their menus are not merely restricted to Chaats and Bhel Puris and Pakoras  but ranges from Chinese, South Indian, Punjabi tadka, Maharashtra’s Vada Paos, Puri Bhaji to Spring rolls and Momos and different sweets and beverages. The food is not that hygienic though but is still okay because it doesn’t show its adverse effect if we eat weekly or monthly. It is fun going to the stalls and the aroma of dishes cooking up there  is so intriguing that you can’t stop yourself by just having a look or passing through without munching anything. Yes this is the magic of street food. Also the prices are way less even in the time of inflation.

Indian cuisine is incomplete without mentioning about the street food we find here. A huge variety is available on stalls and eating without proper  seating arrangement and experiencing the evening with the chaats, the Pani puri or Aloo tikkis has distinguished appraisal. One cannot argue about its nutritional value after once having it, that is why, because the taste covers up for the issues like non cleanliness , nutritional value , calories etc.  Nothing can beat the street food. Because even after the mushrooming of several foreign food joints , they are still there and the common man is still enjoying it all around as is apparent. The finger licking food offered by these stalls is awesome. They have out stretched the quality and varieties both so that it may not lost its value among people. People from every strata enjoy eating in streets. Though eating in a routine might cause food poisoning or such disorders but then it is the case with the hotels too, isn’t it?

For those who are still bothered about its oil content and are following a diet, Bhel puris and Chaats are a better option for them. I eat at such street corners on the weekends and trust me,  it seems more and more tempting every time. Winters are a good time to enjoy such street food , for when you take a bite of that crispy aloo tikki or samosa , all your distress slips away. When you see people eating , laughing, joking madly or badly around stalls and are enjoying the mouth-watering food,  then you will feel all your tension departing and will find yourself becoming a part of that crowd. I would like to say that everyone should enjoy such unhygienic food once in a month because it is outstanding and simply wonderful. It is actually a cool experience. Once you have it , you can never let it go through your mind and experiences. 🙂
